6 Months

Well, Laynie is six months old today, and she is changing fast!  Within the last couple of weeks she has improved on her sitting up.  She can balance herself pretty well.  She does like to go forward to get her feet.  haha!
She also has her first tooth!  It broke the gums two days ago.
She is scooting around the floor.  This is also a new thing over the last couple of weeks.  I would lay her down to play with her little play gym, and the next thing you know, she's under the piano.  Now she scoots around as soon as you put her down.
Also, recently, she started really babbling...  lalala,  dadada, etc.   She wakes up and talks to herself.
Brandon has played Elmo on his iphone, and she just loves it.  She really focuses in on watching Elmo.
She loves to play in the bath.  She kicks like crazy.  Today she was playing with the rubber duckie and hair rinser.
She is also looking at small details and trying to pick up small objects with her "pinchers."  She's doing pretty well.
We are still working on Bedtime, though.  She fights us most nights.  She's been doing pretty well to sleep through the night, but sometimes she gets up around 3-ish to eat.

Snow Storm

We had a blizzard hit OKC Feb. 1, 2011~
No school for me and the girls...no work for Brandon...so we just holed up in our warm house.  Laynie had started throwing herself back, so that you can lay her upside down for a few seconds.  So Brandon started doing "Flippies" with her, turning her in full circles.  She loves that!  She'll throw her head back to do more!  She was also sick all day yesterday (vomiting) poor girl!  Runny nose~ yuck!  This morning (2/3) She was able to keep milk down.

It's supposed to get to 23 degrees today, so hopefully we can take the big girls sledding.  The wind has kept the temperature to zero or below.  The first day, everyone went out in it...Brandon to shovel, and we girls to play... didn't last long with the blowing wind.  Yesterday, only Maycie played a long time outside...I could handle about 15 minutes.

Sitting pretty

Laynie eating her toes.
2/1 We also caught Laynie trying to eat her toes, and she's doing really well sitting supported.  She loves her Bumbo too, and plays with toys on her tray.  She's been eating cereal and pears, green beans, and peas. We started her on cereal at 4 months, and now she's eating more solids.
She really likes her Exersaucer and her floor gym.  She doesn't like her swing anymore.  She's getting used to a bouncer that you hang in the doorway.  She still loves songs and to be tickled. She notices the little details on her toys.  She also plays with her hands.  She's starting to smile and laugh at peek-a-boo.  Rylee and Hailee love playing with her...they'll take her and go :).  When she's sitting with me, she likes to lay her cheek against mine.  She smiles and laughs...she's kind of loud  haha.  She's listening to books longer and touching the pages.  When she eats her cereal, she grabs the spoon, like she's feeding herself.
